Where can I buy good quality eucalyptus oil? And how can I burn it for aromatherapy for my sinuses?

Better health food stores sell it.

Don't burn it for aromatherapy. Simmer a few drops of it in a pot of water on your stove or put a few drops in a bowl of hot water, put your face over it and enshroud your head with a towel to hold the vapors in.Where can I buy good quality eucalyptus oil? And how can I burn it for aromatherapy for my sinuses?
Health food stores usually sell high quality oils but you may find it cheaper without sacrificing quality online. Try the website below as they have very reasonable prices. ( $6.75 for 8oz)

Most 99cent stores sell attractive aromatherapy burners and I find them more convenient to use than hogging up the stove. Its quite easy to use. You place a candle beneath the burner and fill a bit of water into the pot and place a few drops of oil into it. When it warms up it will release the scent. If you don't want to worry about watching over a candle you can find mini electric pots for under $7 at Walmart.

Krill oil is the best and it does not result in fishy taste. Thorne Research brand is the purest but can only be provided by a licensed health care professional. Thorne does not sell retail to the public.
nature made is a brand that i get at walmart and i have been taking it for months.
You can ask their doctor for samples (and then a prescription) of an omega-3 called OmaCor. I take it and started after my heart attack. Its very expensive, and some insurance helps.

But I would not just buy OTC for them without talking to their doctor first.
i have always heard that cod oil is awesome and really good for you. and nowadays you dont have to taste it anymore, it comes in capules.
Omacor is supposed to be the purest and highest quality. . .if you believe their drug representative.
I would be wary of Omacor the side effects are terrible after 6 weeks I experienced the following side effects, and a stay in the hospital, stopped taking it and all sysmptoms went away, My Dr. said that it was not possible until I showed him the following side effects

Which brand of fish oil tablets are the best quality?

I am reading that xtend-life has the best fish oil tablets, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't ready a marketing scam. Anyone else know which brand of tablets have the highest quality? I am pregnant and cant afford to take cheap pills that may have mercury in them. Which brand of fish oil tablets are the best quality?
Fish oil is a great source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids. And, most over the counter versions are all the same. All the latest research says that there is no mercury in fish oil tablets so ignore claims that say ';wild caught'; and ';mercury free'; are better for you. These are just scams to make you think their product is better and it's not, just more expensive. It's best to buy the concentrated version so that you don't have to take as much and reduces the chances of ';fish'; taste. Will the quality of oil-on-canvas deteriorate if exposed to sunlight frequently?

Sunlight, particularly UV rays, are very bad for your oil painting. Besides more rapidly working on fading and distorting the fugitive colors that may have been used, UV rays can damage the structure of the cloth and the mediums as well. Remember, sunlight can heat things up, and heating and cooling your oil painting will cause unnecessary expansion/contraction . . . and can you guess what that means? Yeah, cracks and crazing of the surface. Will the quality of oil-on-canvas deteriorate if exposed to sunlight frequently?
Here's the deal.

Different pigments fade differently in sunlight. Colors that fade a lot from being exposed to uv rays are called fugitive colors and each tube of oil paint is labelled with how much the paint will fade, it's called lightfastness. Will the quality of oil-on-canvas deteriorate if exposed to sunlight frequently?
I don't THINK it will, although, I haven't worked much with oils. Mainly acrylics and watercolors.
Yes it will. And not only on sunlight: using flashes is also not allowed in most museums.
The color may fade abit :) x x x
I hope going through this site helps :)

Can we keep the same quality of life without oil?

I'm always hearing about how doomed we are when we run out of oil. Is this true? Or are there enough replacing technologies to maintain our quality of life? Do we have adequate recycling technology to reuse 100% of plastics that we currently use? Will we even need it?Can we keep the same quality of life without oil?
No sweat here. At least not in your life time. If we kept using oil at our current rate we wouldn't run into a problem for another 500 years.

Don't believe the hype. We got lots of oil and more......Can we keep the same quality of life without oil?
At this point in time our whole society is built on oil. Not just america but the world. There are several new theories as to the formation of oil, one is that it is created in the subduction zones of the world. As the crust of the earth is forced under and back into the mantel the pressure and heat free up the organic material and create more oil. this would explain why a lot of the worlds oil is found in subduction zones. And no we need to find a replacement that is just as cheap as oil to maintain our current quality.
Can we keep the same quality of life without oil? No, because oil in cheap. All replacements will cost far more. Therefore the cost of living will be much higher without oil. With Hybrid technology we can get far Better gas mileage so oil can last longer. Also it is possible to make oil from coal, but it costs allot.
    Try searching ';peak oil';.

Then when you understand what it is and you are convinced of its validity then search ';peak oil, world population'; (warning; this might give you nightmares).

Also search ';peak natural gas';, ';peak nuclear'; and ';peak coal';.

The short answer to your question is: We can't!
Well if the oil ran dry we would still be able to make things that are commonly made of oil besides lubricants by recycling for many many years after. Nuclear energy would produce electricity for our electric cars made out of recycled fossil fueled cars. Yes there would be some big problems but we would do OK.
If we leave everything the way it is now, running out of oil is going to be quite painful. If we rebuild our nation now in a way that will still work without oil, we can have a very good lifestyle without it.
Dont worry Pres obama is doing all he can to cut down the use of oil.

How do i determine if fish oil is high quality?

i have fish oil but i dont know if it is ';good quality';.

how do i find out? if is true that good quality fish oil doesn't leave an after taste? How do i determine if fish oil is high quality?
That term ';pharmaceutical quality'; doesn't mean bupkis for one thing....there are some great, and very reasonably price fish oil products out there....and yes, they all leave an after taste to some degree - some people are more sensitive to it - and some companies do a better job of covering it with lemon oil.

Take a look at the side of the bottle at the itty bitty print...

If it has less than 180 mgs of EPA and 120mgs of DHA (per 1,000 mg fish oil capsule), don't waste your time with it. (though I prefer the liquids)How do i determine if fish oil is high quality?
My nutritionist told me that there is only one fish oil out there that is actually worth taking, and it costs around $200 a month. Everything else is a waste of money. I can't remember what it was called, but if yours is not that expensive, then switch to Flax Seed Oil. It is so good for you and I have seen amazing changes since taking it. I used to have very dry skin and tried EVERYTHING to make it better. After two weeks of taking the flax oil I now only apply cream every few days. A huge transformation. Give it a try! I recommend buying Spectrum. I will include a link for you. I use the pill form, but have heard that the liquid is great too...possibly even better for you.

    Hope this helps!
If you take capsules, break one. If it smell like fish, the fat is going rancid (trimethylamine).

I personally like flax seed oil. extremely high in Omega 3. With no possibility of fishy after taste.

I buy in capsule and buy cold pressed refrigerated.
i believe all fish oil leaves an aftertaste which you can avoid by drinking it with something sweet
You don't. My husband was taking fish oil, but now takes krill instead. Look into it, more benficial and safer- no mercury!

Baldwin/Hastings makes their own filters. They are big in the truck industry. They make car filters too. For the money possibly the best auto oil filter made. Very close in quality to a Mobil 1 filter at half the price. Report Abuse

baldwin filter are excellent and they do have a car line but only certain places carry them you just have to look around for them
i havent seen any baldwin filters for cars, but i do know they do a lot for diesels in trucks. i would stick with a brand thats known well like fram or wix.
baldwin filters are used by fleets everywhere, they are a good filter, i believe they are the most used filters
28 years as a Auto tech and I've never heard of them but that doesn't mean there not good. Most filters are built by only a few companies in the world due to the expense of the building process and are built to the specs of whose buying the label put on the filter.

Which is the best quality oil paint to use??

    In this order:

Old Holland, Robert Doak, Williamsburg, Gamblin, and Bloxx

Old holland is pigment dense and is only mixed with cold pressed linseed oil. It is more expensive but a tube lasts longer since it has less medium mixed in with it. You can mix your one mediums in with it.

You can buy at any big art supply store

Robert Doak is this genius in Brooklyn who makes his own paints with authentic traditional recipes. Very High quality, but he uses a good amount of medium. He does have colors you can't get anywhere else.

    http://www.robertdoakart.com/page/page/5鈥?/a>

Williamsburg Art Materials is very close to old holland just as pigment rich and just as expensive...great paints though:

    http://www.williamsburgoilpaint.bizland.鈥?/a>

Gamblin, high quality but they use too much medium for my taste

Bloxx I don't know much about but I have good things about it.Which is the best quality oil paint to use??
There is no perfect answer to your question. Most artists who paint a lot will use many brands at once. I have been painting for over thirty years use five different manufactuers' oil paint on almost every artwork. This is because each brand of paint will differ in thickness (or fluidity), and artists eventually find and use what brands work best for the kind of painting they do. Also, although many manufacturers may carry the same color name on a tube of paint, each of these will differ in many ways and blend differently with other colors (especially with white). Lastly, some of the more unusual or vivid paint colors are not made by every company.

So, I would suggest that you start by buying six or eight of the basic colors from a medium-priced manufacturer, like Winsor-Newton or Grumbacher. Then, as you can afford or need them, try other colors and brands. You will soon find you have both favorites and tubes you hate.Which is the best quality oil paint to use??
Any ';artist grade'; paint with a reputable name is good enough. Utrecht, Windsor%26amp;Newton, Old Holland, etc. When shopping oil paint, its the NAME OF THE COLOR you want to be mindful of. Stay away from weird colors using imitation pigments. If the pigment has a NUMBER, such as PY23, or Br5, or whatever, then that's how you know it is sanctioned by the organization that approves pigments. Read the label on the paint tube and note the ';lightfast'; quality (how it stands up to fading over time).
I wouldn't get caught up into thinking the high price stuff out there is better than the less expensive oils. Alot of todays less expensive oils are certainly of better quality than the masters themselves used back then and look how long their work has lasted. What it comes down to is, you try this brand and that brand and in the end its just a matter of prefrence based on experience with and whether you get the desired effect. I don't know of anyone that can walk up to a painting and tell what brand the artist used.
Old Holland is the classic oil paint of very high quality!

Almost pure pigment (except for the necessary linseed oil)!

I`ve been working as a professional artist for the last three years and I only use Old Holland!

The only downside I can think of is the price!

    Winsor %26amp; Newton

This is one of the most popular oil paint brands, found in most art stores. Their artist quality paints are relatively inexpensive, and their student grade paints (Winton) are even more so.

    Grumbacher

This is another of the most popular brands, cheaper than Winsor %26amp; Newton for the most part although probably of lesser quality as well.

    Utrecht

This is one of the least expensive artist quality paints on the market. It is therefore quite popular, even though it is available only via mail order or from a few select stores.

    Rembrandt

These oil paints are perhaps a little more expensive than Winsor %26amp; Newton, but they have a good reputation for quality. Their paints are generally lighter and more mousse-like in texture than most.

    Old Holland

Although it is not as large a company as Winsor %26amp; Newton, Grumbacher, or Talens, Old Holland oil paints are still reasonably widely available. They considered by many to be the finest of the major brands, and the price is consistent with this.

    Gamblin

This is one of the more popular of the smaller brands. The paints are made by an artist, Robert Gamblin.

    M. Graham

These paints are made with walnut oil instead of linseed oil. The advantages and disadvantages of this have been debated over the years, but the claim is that paintings made from walnut oil paints will yellow less and be less susceptible to cracking over time. One tradeoff is that walnut oil dries more slowly than linseed oil. M. Graham also makes an alkyd white, and by using this in conjunction with walnut oil colors for the rest of your painting, you end up with a curing time more similar to linseed oil, since white is mixed into most other colors.

Which quality Olive Oil for cooking/ frying vegetables?

can extra virgin olive oil be used in cooking involving extensive heating for longer periods? which quality olive oil can be used in the preparation of curries and pasta dishes.Which quality Olive Oil for cooking/ frying vegetables?
Olive oil burns if heated too high.

Use it to saute vegetables is fine. Toss it with pasta.

But curries - I usually use canola or peanut oil. If you are using a lot of curry, you can't taste the olive oil anyway, so you might as well use something more neutral.Which quality Olive Oil for cooking/ frying vegetables?
olive oil is used in low temp conditions. each type of oil has a temp that it changes and burns. olive oil does this the quickest. extra virgin or other. it doesn't matter. use canola for high temps. all other qualities of olive oil are under extra virgin which is made from the first pressing of the olive. they are less desirable for the nutrients that olive oil is used for in the first place...and there fore cheaper but never better for anything. olive oil should be used for more of a seasoning thing. i do use it at a warm to medium temp to saute. other than that fry in other oils and add the olive last.
Extra virgin olive loses its flavour at high heats. It is best to use normal cooking oil for frying and save the extra virgin for dressing salads or with pasta sauces that dont require much heat.

I use ghee(clarified butter) when making indian curies because it adds a deeper nutty flavour.

Peanut oil is good for stir-frys, as is sesame oil (very strong flavour)
If you want to use olive oil for frying, choose a less expensive kind as extra virgin oil will lose flavor and has a low flash point (point at which the chemical composition alters (unhealthy BTW) beyond which a fire can result). Why pay for something you won't get taste-wise. Extra virgin olive oil is best used as a ';seasoning'; after the cooking is finished. You can alter the flashpoint of an oil by mixing two different oils together (e.g. olive and peanut oil). Peanut oil and coconut oil have the highest flashpoints, that is why they are used in deep fryers. I wouldn't bother using extra virgin olive oil in heavily seasoned curries because the flavors conflict (to my taste). Indians use ghee and Asians tend towards peanut or coconut oil. Of course companies like Bertolli make a cheap olive oil (which are chemically extracted unlike ';first pressed'; oils) that is pretty tasteless, so if you must.... As an aside, extra virgin olive oil has a variety of flavors, colors, and complexity like wine, there are even tastings at an Italian deli by me where people dip crusty bread in different oils.

What are some good quality conventional Motor Oil brands?

my car has about 180k. Ive been going to firestone where i pay for the cheapest one so im guessing they're poor quality.I also dont get the difference with 5w-30 or 4w-20 and all that. I dont really need an explanation but rather a recommendation. What are some good quality conventional Motor Oil brands?
VALVOLINE or CASTROLWhat are some good quality conventional Motor Oil brands?
    Quaker State............Pennzoil
Never use what isn't recommended by your engine. The engine oil weight shouldn't be messed with. Your car will either have 5W30 or 10W30.

Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic is a good motor oil... for higher compression engines (comes factory in Corvettes, Lambourghini, Ferrari and Porche), but in a car with 180,000 plus miles, not recommended.

Quaker State has a higher mileage oil for cars with 150,000 miles or more... like your car.

Although Mobil 1 is like liquid plastic, you don't need it. Use Quaker State High Mileage.

Next, don't go to Firestone. They are a national dealer whose only goal is sales. Usually hiring lower quality technicians. Best bet is to go to your local garage or dealership. It may cost more, but you get more.
I recommend MOBILE 1 brand. I used to use Castrol GTX but when I switched to mobile 1 I felt the difference. I also use 1 32 oz. bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer every time I change my oil.

The 5w-30 is the weight and protective properties in the oil. Newer cars only need a 5 weight (w) because they are designed to be ran with that weight, but older cars can benefit from a little heavier weight like 10w or a 20w. Just remember the heavier the weight of the oil the more your oil pump works. If you want to prolong the life of your engine you should use mobile 1 high milage and maybe a bottle of Lucas oil stabilizer. Probably a 10w-30 or a 10w-40. I hope this helps!
Its all pretty much the same anymore. Some maybe cheaper yes, but for the most part they are alot alike. I use Valvoline 10-30 in winter and 10-40 in summer. Manufacture suggest 5-30 all year around. I have 133,000 mi on my cav z-24 and not a lick of oil dripping, leaking or burning. Car runs like it did when i pulled her off the lot 6 years ago. The biggest part of oil is the changing. I change mine every 2000-2500 miles. religously. The filters are one of the major players in the oil story. Cheap filters can be catastrophic. Case in point, we buy oil filters in bulk for our vehicles, being government we have to go with lowest bidder. They were a grey filter, something in german i believe, well we went to change oils and one filter after another had metal in the exit side of the filters! had we used those our vehicles would have been junk. Now we use Mobil 1 filters or fram.

I have a 2006 Cadillac STS and I need to change the oil. What is the best quality oil that I can put in???

Mobil 1, syntheticI have a 2006 Cadillac STS and I need to change the oil. What is the best quality oil that I can put in???
Go with a synthetic which I believe that Cadillac recommends Mobil 1. I have used Mobil 1 full synthetic for years and it is an excellent oil. I would also suggest that you use a quality filter (not a quick oil change one). AC Delco makes good filters. I use K%26amp;N 90% of the time in my cars and ocassionally I use Bosch filters which have good quality at a very reasonable price. I think with the STS the computer will tell you when to change the oil if not I would go about 6500 before changing it. To be 100% sure on your change interval take a sample of your oil at 5 to 7k miles and then send it in to Blackstone Laboratories and they will analyze it and send you a comprehensive report on the amount of additives left in the oil and the contaminants in the oil. I have also used Royal Purple %26amp; Pennzoil synthetics and can recommend those as well.I have a 2006 Cadillac STS and I need to change the oil. What is the best quality oil that I can put in???
You have 3 options. Mobil 1 synthetic, Valvoline synthetic, or Castrol synthetic. They are all there basically the same. Anyone want to argue that ignore them. They all buy the same additive package from the same company. DONT USE PENSZOIL!
    MOBIL1 FULL SYNTHETIC!!!
mobiel one is the best that is what they use in the corvettes.

so just do the same pocedure

and i dont use eyeshadow... i think it looks fake no one really thinks u have blue eyelids.... i think eyeshadow can be good if u make it look completely natural i dont like it to look over done... i usually just use a soft shimmer if anything.

eyeliner is a must but takes awhile to learn how to use i use maybalinne lash exact... it works great plusss all u have to do is roll it up so no wood and sharpening so no wood in ur eye...

Is there a difference between first cold-pressed and simply ';cold-pressed'; in terms of olive oil quality?

What's the difference, if any, between cold-pressed and first cold-pressed. Is there a difference??Is there a difference between first cold-pressed and simply ';cold-pressed'; in terms of olive oil quality?
Those terms mean nothing in most of today's mass-produced olive oils. They may have more meaning if you can find olive oil extracted in more traditional manners, but those usually come from artisan producers and in very small batches.

';Virgin'; and ';cold-pressed'; are interchangeable terms. They both mean that only mechanical methods were used to extract the oil (as opposed to heat or chemical methods, both of which alter the natural properties of the oil).

';First pressing'; refers to when the old method of using a mechanical screw press was common. Olives went through the press at relatively low pressures the first time through, meaning the most pure product came out (thus ';first pressing';). Then the resulting pulp was sent through a higher pressure press to extract more oil. The higher pressure results in heat, which degrades the flavor of the oil. Often, the pulp was heated before the second pressing to be able to extract more oil.

Centrifuges are now used to extract oil by most commercial producers. Since the oil is extracted by centrifugal force until nothing else comes out, there is no second pressing. It's my understanding that since the olives are not subjected to as much pressure using this method, they are not subjected to as much heat either, preserving the original qualities and flavor of the oil.

Back to my original statement: ';first cold pressed'; and ';cold pressed'; are mostly marketing terms carrying over from the early days of olive oil extraction methods. By today's standards, most any non-refined olive oil qualifies as ';first cold pressed';.

There are certainly quality differences between oils, but if you're comparing labels of extra virgin olive oils, these extra words on the label are no longer a good indicator of these differences. Is there a difference between first cold-pressed and simply ';cold-pressed'; in terms of olive oil quality?
Yes, EVO is oil made from pressing new olives to get the oil.

There are many other extractions to get more oil that are called virgin olive oil, pure olive oil and pomace olive oil.
The 1st pressing is called extra virgin and has more flavor. The second is called virgin and is a little less flavorful.
The first pressing is the best oil all the way down the line. They keep pressing for more and more oil.

The better the quality, the higher the price and rarely used for cooking. Used mainly for drizzling over the finished meal or in a bowl to dip your fresh crusty bread into.

Does anyone know where I can buy Quality Oil Paintings on the Internet?

It depends on what you are willing to spend and what you consider quality oil paintings. There are many on-line galleries that host an array of artists. There are also on-line databases that house artist directories and samples of their artwork. For one Saatchi Gallery http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/ is a great website that has numerous artists offering works of art for sale. Another site to visit is http://www.askart.com/AskART/index.aspx This site offers information for 52,000 American artists-works for sale, works available through auction, etc. Ebay is an OK source for artwork. If you are looking to get some original work cheap, that would be the place to go. But be mindful, what you pay for is what you get. Try ebay.

You can find some really high quality paintings for a fraction of the price you would have to pay in an art gallery.

    For example:

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Barton-Gallerie鈥?/a>
There are hundreds, probably thousands of art websites out there that showcase artwork, and you can buy over many of these. Just google 'original art' and see how many come up.

If you're looking for reproductions of famous artworks, then you should look at museum/gallery websites, but I think that originality is always best and that you should buy artwork that you like.

The problem with e-bay is that there are a lot of hobby painters trying to sell their work though these, so it's not always the nicest or most original work.

I have stuff on NewIrishArt.com if you're interested, but there is lots there. And a very valuable tip: because you have to live with this artwork, it is much better to only buy what you absolutely love.
You can buy good oil paintings at http://globalwholesaleart.com.

A search under fine art galleries will yield many results, but it helps if you have a budget and style you are looking for.

Many fine galleries carry contemporary masters and the prices can be high, because it is expected that their work will appreciate in value.

Other galleries handle up-and-coming artists who are less well known, but who are much more affordable. It helps to do your homework here, and can be fun. Almost all major galleries, as well as less reputable galleries have web access now.

Where to buy high-quality essential oil for aromatherapy?

I used to buy essential oil in Bath %26amp; Body Works, but they discontinued most kinds of oils in recent years. Any recommendation?Where to buy high-quality essential oil for aromatherapy?
Essential Oils are the natural aromatic essences of plants, and no two are alike. Just like good wine, you want to buy from someone who knows a lot about quality.

It does not have to be expensive, but the commitment has to be there to give you a pure product.

Bath %26amp; Body Works does mostly synthetic fragrances, and I did not care for the quality of their Essential Oil line, but then again, I may be spoiled ;-)

I personally love AromaLand, and have been using their products for a decade now. They are the oldest privately owned Aromatherapy company in the US (the founder is still purchasing all the oils personally), and they have an incredible selection of both therapeutic grade oils, yummy blends, and lots of spa treatments and other fun things to indulge your weary soul.

Since there is a lot to learn, check out the Essential Oil profiles, they post a lot of information online. You can also ask for free oil samples when you order, they seem to honor that every time.Where to buy high-quality essential oil for aromatherapy?
Emily's Oils %26amp; Essentials continues a 20+ year tradition of offering the finest essential oils to therapists, spas, clinics and individuals. I import essential oils from around the world. Most of the oils are grown organically or are 'wild'. All are pure and unadulterated.
Make sure you use therapeutic grade essential oils. They are the best for their therapeutic %26amp; medicinal properties. I would really look into the company you are purchasing from to check the distillation %26amp; growing procedures they use to make sure they are all natural without any chemicals added to the oil (mass production) or for growing the actual plant. My whole family and I use Young Living products and love them. They even use them at the Bellagio Spa in Vegas. If you need further information, let me know.
What are you going to use the essential oil for? Some aromatherapy products nowadays have already added essential oils, you just have to choose which one's your favorite. Bath salts for example are often sold with an essential oil added to it.

High quality oil paints and brushes and materials?

I used to draw as a child and teenager and then I stopped. I took an art class in college and enjoyed painting. I want to pick it up again and learn as I go. I want use quality materials.High quality oil paints and brushes and materials?
I would either go to an art supply store or use an online store. Winsor Newton makes really good oil colors. Cheap Joes and Dick Blick are art supply stores online. They are very helpful to talk to on the phone.High quality oil paints and brushes and materials?
Well personally I use Rembrandt Extra fine oil although there are other brands out there - Extra fine oils have a High concentration of pigments and the grinding is very fine - I love Rembrandt's oils especially for the richness and intensity of the colors (see my paintings in the link below)

However, extra fine oils don't come cheap and some colors/pigments are more expensive than others like whites and cadmium yellows for instance. Since white can sometimes be used in large quantity like to paint skies or such I find it is useful to keep a large tube of white of a lesser quality for mixing with other colors to be applied on large surfaces and keep a small tube of extra fine Titanium or zinc white to be used for details, luminous spots or again for the rare occasions when pure white is needed - Otherwise you'll go through your Extra fine paint tube very quickly and you'll find your hobby quite an expensive one.

Additionally you'll need a basic set of Hog bristle and Sables (or synthetic fibers) brush of different sizes and shape - You can buy more eventually as you go along - Good oil painting brushes should have fibers that are hardwearing, secure and tight fitting.

You will also need Distilled turpentine or mineral white spirit or again an oderless thinner (I use a natural citrus based thinner) which doesn't have that turpentine nasty smell yet works jut as good. Oderless thinner is especially usefull is you have a small studio space or again if your studio is at home. However despite that the oder is less distubing, proper ventillation is still required.

Finally but not least you'll need some lindseed oil. Cold-pressed linseed oil is probably the finest quality but refined linseed oil does just aswell. I use refined linseed oil mosty, I'd say 90% of the time but I also keep a bottle of (more expensive) poppy oil when I'm working with whites or paintings that has a lot of pale colors (because linseed oil tends to yellow when dry ) However keep in mind that poppy oil tends to crack when dry if used in too large quantity. So it is to be used with moderation.

How does a car measure oil quality?

How does it know how to tell you it is time for an oil change? How does a car measure oil quality?
It's a very complex formula that doesn't work! It's also a great waste of our $$ for this system. People don't use it anyway!

Go 3-5k on your changes (oil %26amp; filter) %26amp; you'll be fine, DO NOT go by those lights...................unless it's a lease, you'll be fine.

    BTW-Don't EVER buy a lease!

PS-8ball=';thumbs up'; %26amp; why would any1 ';thumbs down'; the other answers? How does a car measure oil quality?
As always year make and model? Pontiac and BMW also use the number of cold starts and hours and milage to determine when the oil change light turns on. I change my oil much sooner than the idiot light. I LIKE MY CAR'S ENGINE
it doesnt really measure oil quality. theres a sensor that calculates how may miles you driven and when it gets to the specific miles, then it reminds you to change the oil.
It doesn't really measure oil quality... It's more like the total miles or engine operating hours since the last oil change.
It麓s the computer that calculates it with the mileage and the cold starts.

An engine can not tell you anything about the quality of the oil, it麓s the operator or the person who checks the oil who should be able to see how good or bad the oil is.
VISCOSITY......thickness in the oil....the cars are programed to show service light every 3000 miles and U have a reset button in your fuse box to turn it off...THE CAR IS NOT THAT SMART!!
There is a computer in the car that measures the rpm's, load, etc. It directs this info. to the computer.
the car doesn't. it measures oil quantity, not quality. the quality of oil, is measured by you. that is why they put these reminders on your front windshield, for when is the next time to change the oil(or at what milage). On top of that you are supposed to check the oil dip stick , (the one with yellow ring), and touch the oil, rub it betwwen your fingers, and see it is still oily, or more thinned out, and if the color is clear brown, or black and tainted.try it, and you will know exactly what i am talking about.

    good luck.
    The car doesn't, people do.
    Hi,

here are two of the basic ways a vehicle will light up a reminder for an oil change...

First, and the simplest, is a computer keeps track of your mileage and turns on the oil change light at a predetermined mileage (3000, 3500, etc.). Obviously, this isn't measuring quality, just distance.

Second, every fluid has a certain resistance to electrical current.

Computers are programmed to record the electrical resistance between two sensors in the oil, and if that resistance falls between a preestablished set of numbers in the computer's memory, the computer's little brain says ok and nothing happens.

Oil is burned and broken down during the engine's run cycle (it's viscosity changes) and when this happens, depending on your driving conditions, the electrical resistance will change and that change will fall outside the established parameters. The computer turns on the light that says get yourself to the oil mongers.

Are fried foods still unhealthy if you use fresh high quality oil at a very high temperature?

I hear that supposedly sunflower oil is the best, but I've never put it to the test. I honestly don't know if the temperature makes a difference or not, which is surprising since I'm a Texas girl and down here we fry everything from Coca-Cola to Twinkies and Oreos to pickles. Try to absorb all the excess grease you can (I usually put paper towel on the plate to do so) would be my advice. Hey, after all, they're just arteries we're clogging, right? Are fried foods still unhealthy if you use fresh high quality oil at a very high temperature?
yes they carry to much fat and high in calories and your cholesterol will rise that what killed Adam Faith to many fry ups and he had a massive heart attack even if you dry fry its just the same but it only cuts down the calories a bit.Are fried foods still unhealthy if you use fresh high quality oil at a very high temperature?
You could cook them as hot as you want, but they are still unhealthy.
There has never been UNhealthy food ONLY defective humans...
No, if you do it the right way, and drain your food, it should not be as unhealthy as traditional fast food which is often cooked without your health in mind. The higher the temp, the less likely food will absorb excess oils. The food will not be exactly ';healthy'; but you will still be better off cooking it yourself than having someone else mysteriously prepare it in an industrial kitchen.
Yes, to make it less ';unhealthy'; you can use a vegetable oil and use high heat to make sure that you cook the foods but don't allow the foods to soak up the oil during cooking.
of course it is, Anything that sits in oil is fatty.

What is a good quality oil painting brush for ';scrubbing'; that won't fall apart?

I'm an amateur beginning oil painter and I've developed a good style but I can't find any brushes that can hold up. Mainly I use the harder hog brushes in brights or flats, and lately housebrushes. In the end however they shed quite a bit and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a brush that doesn't shed as much? ThanksWhat is a good quality oil painting brush for ';scrubbing'; that won't fall apart?
I would recommend a high quality hogs hair bristle brush. There are many good brands...just pick a high end brush. Another fact though is that some of the medium range hogs hair brushes are not that expensive and you can buy several. I use them and actually like the feel of them after they get used a bit. I personally love Daniel Smith brand brushes...you can buy them online at Danielsmith.com.

Are there any ill effects or is Liquin time tested now? What is the effect of using Liquin to help accelerate the drying of quality oil paints over a long period?
Check the ingredients of your paints and avoid zinc. Delamination has been a problem. Liquin is alkyd based and is incompatible with zinc. W%26amp;N does not use zinc in their alkyd paint line.

Do not add too much. It can get slippery. People have a tendency to dip into mediums like they are dipping into water using watercolor paint. Think of the least amount and preferably use less than that. The benefit is reached and more invites trouble.

A better alternative to Liquin is M Graham's Walnut Alkyd Medium.

http://sitekreator.com/hushcolours/index鈥?/a>I'd like to try artist quality oil pastels on stretched canvas. Any tips for which brands are the best?
With pastels, you really do get what you pay for. If you use economical or budget priced pastels, they just will not perform the way you want. But you don't have to go all the way to the top, either. The most expensive are the most buttery and soft, and as they go down in price, they have more filler and are firmer. You can begin your work using a firm pastel like NuPastel, and then save your top layers for the softer stuff like Sennelier or Windsor Newton.

Top of the line is Schminke and Unison and more obscure brands of hand rolled pastels. When you know what you want, you can buy just one for a finishing touch. But beware, the softer they are, the more they crumble away on you.

Do not mix oil pastels with soft pastels. Sanded or sueded paper can make a huge difference in your work.

Jerry's is good, so is Cheap Joe's, and so is Dick Blick.

The traditional one is to use Neats Foot oil which has been left for several years with lead pellets in it, the lead removes the last of the acidity which guarantees the oil will not thicken or go rancid ever, well not for a hundred years at least.

There's just one thing about oiling camera parts, if you can see the oil you have way too much. It really is a case of applying it, usually with a pointed cocktail stick, give it time to go where you want it, then wipe all the rest off.

Lighter fluid (benzine) is good for dissolving old oil that's turned into glue.

I am a full time artist My website is www.janedunn.co.uk

I work a lot for clients in the USA. My work is very reasonable.
I'm a member of Worldwide Women Artists Online (WWAO) and there are several members who paint in oils. (I paint acrylics--mostly wildlife, so I'd be no help)....here's the website to our group..feel free to browse around and see some of our almost 300 members' works. Most all of them are happy to do commissioned works such as you're needing.

    Any questions, let me know.
Check out hellosanantonio.com and look at some of the artists art pages. See if anyone there does what you are looking for. Most are emerging artists and quite good, perhaps you can work out a deal that both parties will be happy with.
