When doing an oil change which bears more importance to you, the quality of the oil filter or the motor oil?

The quality, grade, and type of oil you use is far more important that some fancy filter.





Most of the time your oil filter is in bypass mode. That means your filter is being bypassed, its not being used, when oil pressure is high, like when driving on the highway.





If you switched from an expensive filter to a cheap one, your engine would not notice the difference. As long as you change the filter when you change the oil, you are more than fine.





The only time where a fancy filter is important is when you are extending oil change intervals to 10,000 miles or more. If you are changing your oil every 15,000 - 20,000 miles, then a top quality filter is important. well like the second guy said, they are both important, here's why, anyone can add a oil on their car if the oil level is low but if you don't change it after while, the oil begins to crumble and make the engine preform badly and soon you'll blow up your engine, so the guilty of changing the Oil is as important too, ALSO changing the Oil filter is as important too because if you change your oil and put your old oil filter back in than your need oil inside the engine become as oil and bad like a use oil because of the dirty long use oil inside of the old oil filter so they both are important, changing the oil filter along with the oil itself and don't forget about the washer, if you don't replace your oil filter washer than you oil won't work as it was new oil. hopes that clear it out for you. good luck.When doing an oil change which bears more importance to you, the quality of the oil filter or the motor oil?
The filter. I use regular Purolator filters. All oil meets or exceeds OEM standards, even the store brands like Walmart, AutoZone and Advance.





I also change mine every 5,000 miles. I used to do it every 3,000 miles years ago. But again, the oil is better than it used to be.

Both are important, when ever u are replacing the engine oil, repl the filter with that. Its good for the engine.
both..if u use a hi grade oil,make sure you also use a good quality oil filter..the 2 shud go along togeder..
The oil
